Product Abstract:

Single-End Rovings are reinforcement products for filament winding, long-fiber thermoplastics, pultrusion, knitting and weaving applications with polyester (UP), vinyl ester (VE), epoxy (EP), phenolic (PN), polypropylene(PP), polyamide (PA) resin systems. Single-End Rovings are produced by pulling individual fibers directly from the bushing and winding them onto a roving package ready for shipment. The uniform distribution of a proprietary sizing system ensures an excellent resin-to-glass binding through uniform distribution of the binding agent.

Product Reference List

366 366 Roving is specifically designed for use in pultrusion and filament winding applications in polyester, vinylester and epoxy resin systems. 366 has also been successfully used in acrylic resin and polyurethane resin systems.
366 can be used in a variety of processes to manufacture pipes, tanks, ladder rails, pultruded structural shapes and grating systems.
SE1200 SE 1200 Roving is specifically designed for use in knitting and weaving applications in polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy resin systems. SE 1200 rovings can be used in a variety of processes to manufacture knitted or woven glass fabrics, central stiffness members for fiber optic cabling, and filament wound pipe, tubes, or tanks. SE 1200 is designed to maximize fatigue performance in polyester resin. SE 1200 is specifically designed to optimize performances with Advantex® glass, Owens Corning’s trademarked corrosion resistant E glass.
SE2350 SE 2350 is designed to be used in applications demanding high strength, excellent fatigue life, and excellent processing. Typical applications include small diameter oil field pipe, down hole tubing, well casing, and chemical processing pipe.
SE 2350 can also be used in aerospace, military, transportation, and electrical applications.
Single-End Rovings (Type 30®) Product Range Single-End Rovings are reinforcement products for filament winding, long-fiber thermoplastics, pultrusion, knitting and weaving applications with polyester (UP), vinylester (VE), epoxy (EP), phenolic (PN), polypropylene (PP), polyamide (PA) resin systems. Single-End Rovings are produced by pulling individual fibers directly from the bushing and winding them onto a roving package ready for shipment. The uniform distribution of a proprietary sizing system ensures an excellent resin-to-glass binding through uniform distribution of the binding agent.
158B 158B is specifically designed for use in filament winding and pultrusion applications with epoxy resin systems. It is also suitable to reinforce phenolic resins. 158B is the recommended product to be used in applications demanding excellent burst strength. It is approved for use in high pressure vessels.
R25H R25H is specifically designed for use in filament winding and pultrusion applications in polyester, vinyl ester, and epoxy resin systems. R25H maximizes strand wet out, allowing superior mechanical properties for pipes made with a continuous process. Combined with Advantex® glass, Owens Corning’s trademarked corrosion resistant E glass, R25H enhances pipe life-time in chemical and sewage pipe markets. It is also safe for use in pipes used for water distribution. R25H is also suitable for pultrusion of central stiffness members for fiber optic cabling.
SE2348 SE 2348 is designed for applications demanding high strength, excellent fatigue life and excellent processing. Typical applications include small diameter oil field pipe, down hole tubing, well casing and chemical processing pipe. SE 2348 is also used in aerospace, military transportation and electrical applications.

PACKAGING

Rovings are available in a single-end internal-pull package. Each pallet weighed about 1 ton. Pallets are stretch wrapped for load stability. All doffs are wrapped with Tack-Pak® transport. Full doffs are available in weights of 20 kg (45 lb.) and 40 kg (88 lb.) regionally and they can be packaged in bulk or Creel-Pak® format.

STORAGE

Unless otherwise specified, it is recommended to store glass fiber products in a cool, dry area. The packaging is not waterproof. Be sure to protect the product from the weather and other sources of water. The glass fiber products must remain in their original packaging material until the point of usage. If these conditions are maintained, the glass fiber product should not undergo significant changes when stored for one year. Beyond one year after delivery, the product might evolve, specifically if stored outside the recommended conditions. The best storage conditions are:

• Temperatures between 22ºC and 23ºC
• Humidity between 60% and 65%.

The product should be stored in the workshop, within its original packaging, 48 hours prior to its utilization.
