Multi-End Rovings
Product Name:
Multi-End RovingsModel No.:
Product Abstract:
Multi-End Rovings are continuous glass fibers bonded together with high-performance sizings and gathered together into strands without twist. The Multi-End Roving can be used in many processes, including but not limited to sheet molding (SMC), spray-up, panel, centrifugal casting, long fiber injection (LFI), glass mat thermoplastics (GMT) and continuous molding (CMC). The roving strands are chopped and used with a wide variety of resins, including but not limited to polyester (PE), vinyl ester (VE), polyurethane (PU), styrene butadiene (SBR), chloroprene rubber (CR), polypropylene (PP) and epoxy (EP) resin systems.- Product Description
Multi-End Rovings
Multi-End Rovings are continuous glass fibers bonded together with high-performance sizings and gathered together into strands without twist. The Multi-End Roving can be used in many processes, including but not limited to sheet molding (SMC), spray-up, panel, centrifugal casting, long fiber injection (LFI), glass mat thermoplastics (GMT) and continuous molding (CMC). The roving strands are chopped and used with a wide variety of resins, including but not limited to polyester (PE), vinyl ester (VE), polyurethane (PU), styrene butadiene (SBR), chloroprene rubber (CR), polypropylene (PP) and epoxy (EP) resin systems.
Finished parts include Class A automotive body parts, structural automotive parts, pick-up truck caps, heavy truck parts, recreational vehicle housings, tub and shower units, door skins, wall panels, boats, swimming pools, tanks and utility boxes. Composites made with Multi-End Rovings offer advantageous strength to weight ratios, high impact resistance, excellent corrosion resistance and smooth surface finishes. Multi-End Rovings are presented in square edge internal pull cylindrical packages and are available in a range of package weights.
CLOSED MOLD ROVING
The wide range of Closed Mold Rovings (CMR) ensures that even the most demanding compounding and molding criteria are met and exceeded. CMRs are designed to produce sheet molding compound (SMC), pre-forms or other processes that involve closed mold press operations. These molding processes are suitable to produce parts for the automotive, heavy truck and building markets.
The fibers, which make up the bundle in CMRs, are bonded together with high-performance polyester compatible sizings. All CMRs are designed to provide excellent chopability, good dispersion, low static, complete resin wet out and outstanding laminate performance. CMR are packaged in a variety of creel style pallets to specific customer requirements, providing complete uninterrupted run out of the package, and available in a variety of linear densities, typically 2400, 4400 or 4800 TEX (207, 124 or 103 Yield).
OPEN MOLD ROVING
Open Mold Rovings (OMR) are designed for a variety of processes including spray-up or gun, panel laminating and chopping. All OMR products have glass fiber filaments bound together with a polyester compatible chemistry, and exhibit low static, excellent runnability and high package and pallet weights. In addition, specific products also offer excellent choppability, high laminate strength, superior corrosion resistance and, if desired, fast wet-out. The products are all covered by the relevant certificates for marine and other applications.
Typical end uses for the products include construction, marine, consumer-recreation, transportation, water tanks, infrastructure pipes, bath/shower units, chemical/waste pipes and translucent/opaque panels.FEATURES & PRODUCT BENEFITS

Multi-End Continuous Rovings are available in a single end internal pull package. Each pallet contains four layers with 12 doffs per layer (48 per pallet) or three layers with 12 doffs per layer (36 per pallet). All pallets are stretch wrapped. Doffs are available in weights between 17 kg (37.4 lb.) and 29.4 kg (65 lb.). Doffs can be placed in Bulk-Pak or Creel-Pak format in the packaging. For Bulk-Pak pallets, the core ends of all doffs are slip knotted. All Creel-Pak pallets have ends that are spliced together. One-, two-, four-, eight- and 12-end run-outs are available dependent upon specific customer requirements.
